18 Jan Spicy Turmeric Cocoa

Out on a rather chilly day during a shopping excursion with my daughter-in-love - she shared this recipe. Just the thought warmed us both up. There was no question that I had to share the delectable drink. Thanks Rachel!
The benefits of daily turmeric are countless. This yellow beauty is a huge anti-inflammatory agent in the body. Did you know that inflammation left unchecked is typically the link to many diseases? Coconut oil is a healthy medium-chain triglyceride (MCTs). This beautiful fat can increase how many calories you burn and keep you feeling satiated. Cocoa flavanols are a profound plant-based nutrient. Sometimes cocoa is referred to as nature's most surprising "superfood".
Directions:
1. Pour milk in a large sauce pan.
2. Add cocoa powder, turmeric and coconut oil.
3. Mix everything with a whisk until well combined.
4. Bring it nearly to a boil.
5. Turn off the heat, add black pepper and cayenne pepper and give it a stir.
Pour in a mug.
6. Let it cool down a bit before adding honey (as not to destroy the enzymes in the honey).
Serve warm.
Note: I always use organic ingredients whenever possible.
