Gummy bears are a kid magnet. What child won't be tempted by these colorful chewy treats? For that very reason I want all my batches (and yours) to be as healthy as possible. Our recipe for tasty gummy bears is without all the added white sugar, corn syrup, food colorings, and other nasty ingredients that store bought gummy bears include.

If you use kombucha, please make sure the sugar content is very low. Check the back label. I make my own homemade kombucha, so I have a lot of control over the sugar content. Fermented, kombucha is known for its beneficial probiotic support.

Organic juice concentrate is delicious and works like a charm. Make sure it has no added sugar. You can find this unsweetened concentrate in glass jars that have a green organic tag. Organic cherry juice and pomegranate concentrates are a few of my families favorites.

Gelatin is made of collagen. Gelatin is a combination of proteins and peptides, making it a wonderful source of amino acids. It is a good source of vitamins, minerals, and organic compounds, including copper, selenium, and phosphorous. Gelatin is a rich source of protein.

Directions:
1. In a small sauce pan, whisk your choice of fruit or vegetable liquid and gelatin until smooth.
2. Add in the honey.
3. Let it sit for a minute or two so the gelatin can “bloom”. (This will help prevent a clumpy or gritty gummy!)
3. Slowly heat the liquid over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until all the gelatin is completely smooth and shiny. Note: Make sure the liquid does not boil.
4. Use a syringe and suck up your juice concoction and release it into your gummy molds.
5. Let the gummies sit for 5 minutes so they set up. Once they are set, put them into the fridge for one hour. Remove and enjoy!

Note: Yes, please do use a juicer with your favorite organic veggies or organic fruit/ veggie blend.

NOTE: No, no, no! I don't recommend using grocery store processed juice like orange juice or apple juice that has been sitting on store shelves for lord knows how long, which typically are packaged in plastic bottles. Please don't cheat. These juices are completely void of nutrients and will only serve to skyrocket your kids blood sugar. These highly processed juices are loaded with high fructose corn syrup and/or other sugar.

Yes, You can store your yummy treats in a glass container for a few weeks in your refrigerator.

Note: I use all organic ingredients whenever possible.
