20 Dec Favorite Cheese Sauce

This recipe was given to me by, Rosebud's Seasoning Mixes during my local Weston A. Price meeting. Our gracious host passed a yummy taste around to everyone. I just had to share the melty goodness with my audience. It's so much healthier than Velveeta cheese sauce, but surprisingly has just about the same flavor and texture.
Gelatin is protein derived from collagen. Its unique amino acid profile gives it many health benefits including skin health. The beauty of cheese is that it is made with only a few ingredients. Cheese is an excellent source of calcium, high-quality protein, and phosphorus – these are some of the nutrients needed for building healthy, strong bones.
Directions:
1. Add grated cheese and gelatin to a blender.
2. Pour in warmed bone broth. Blend well.
3. Use immediately over your favorite dish, steamed veggies, or use it as a cold dip by pouring into a pretty dish and refrigerating till set.
~You can also put this mixture into a pan on the stove by first adding in the bone broth. Warm it. Then melt the cheese and gelatin by adding it to the bone broth. Use an immersion blender to make the sauce creamy and smooth.
~Adding in 1 1/2 cups of your favorite milk (raw organic, goats milk, almond milk, or coconut milk are my favorites) will make this a fantastic creamy cheese for macaroni & cheese.
~If you'd like, do add in chopped jalapeños to add a little heat and a fantastic spicy Mexican flavor to the cheese sauce. Be creative, the skies the limit.
Note: I use all fresh organic ingredients whenever possible.
