Don’t Drink Distilled Water Longterm

Our bodies are made up of approximately 60% water. Replacing our bodies water reserve daily is absolutely essential. We do get a small source of water from our food, but primarily water must be taken into the body by drinking it.

The type of water we ingest matters a great deal and has a direct effect on our health. Clean, fresh, natural spring water is a good source of water. Filtered water using a carbon filter is another good alternative and useful in the home. The solid charcoal filter makes the water slightly alkaline, perfect for consumption. The ideal water for the human body should be slightly alkaline, present with minerals like calcium, magnesium and other trace minerals.

On the other hand, drinking solely distilled water has been found to deteriorate health. It is an overall bad idea, especially long term. This kind of water is boiled, evaporated, and the vapor condensed back into a liquid. It is primarily a soft water beverage lacking in minerals that sustain health. A person who consumes exclusively distilled water changing the body’s electrolyte mineral balance can eventually develop divers mineral deficiencies, fluid retention, fatigue, muscle cramps, headaches, an impaired heart rate, and even organ failure.

The more mineral loss the more risk for a disease. Osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure are a few degenerative diseases generally associated with premature aging. There is a theory that aging and disease are the direct results of the accumulation of acid waste in the body. Drinking distilled water adds significantly to acidification of the body.

Since distilled water it is stripped of all minerals it can quickly cause electrolyte imbalances. The innate intelligence of the body recognizes this mineral lack in the consumption of distilled water and will actually leach electrolytes from tissue to compensate. Swiftly, this depletes necessary minerals from the body. The demineralization of distilled water also increases urine output, quickly depleting the very goal of hydrating the body.

Sodas and soft drinks are made from distilled water and are among the most toxic substances consumed in our culture. Studies have consistently shown that heavy consumers of soft drinks spill vast amounts of calcium, magnesium, and other trace minerals into the urine.

In summary, a person could be putting their health at risk by drinking primarily distilled water. There are no sufficient amount of minerals or nutrients in distilled water. Since our body greatest nutrient is water, this lack makes the body vulnerable to disease and illness, potentially leading to a variety of health setbacks. A person who consumes primarily distilled water upsets the body’s electrolyte mineral balance. Longevity is associated with the regular consumption of clean water, slightly alkaline, and rich in healthful minerals.
